Any rational person knows it can’t be trusted. I guess some silly analyst might say, “it’s the economy, stupid.” “If the world’s economy crashes , it’s bad for all of us.” Bad??? Like the bad way that Gazans are being starved to death??? Or the way kids are being shot and killed, or blown to bits, in tents, or in the Minab elementary girl’s school??? I just don’t understand how anyone can negotiate with people that do things like that. Maybe I’m just hopelessly naive about the ways of the world. Maybe self interest really does trump benevolence in almost all instances. I wonder if a crashed world economy might not be the best thing for us. We could all experience the pangs of hunger in our belly, and grasp a better understanding of what Gazans have been enduring for years now. Unfortunately, I’m afraid that such conditions would create a situation of every man for himself, war of all against all, fighting for the last morsel of nutrition and sustenance, instead of a world of mutual assistance. I’ll just have to wait and see if this agreement comes to fruition, and what the fallout is. Given the omission of Gaza from the documents, I’m not even cautiously optimistic. I’m located here in the grate satan, and currently we’re celebrating 250 years of subjugation of the indigenous peoples, no truth or reconciliation with the descendents of slavery, perpetual war, the abuse of immigrants. A celebration of guns, and war machines. Watching men beat the living shit out of each other in a steel cage. Crazy, insane, crap like this really is what makes a merica grate. It earns the hate. I think that the nations of the earth have to cut off all contact with germany , the u.k., israelis, and the u.s.a. Should they attack, collectively we should send them back to the Stone Age. It can’t always be about a cost/benefit analysis. Sometimes morality and justice have to carry the day.
