They’re not just expanding in the Middle East anymore. Now a full-scale Hasidic, Haredi, ultra-Orthodox enclave is being carved into the middle of Florida. Lakefront Estates and Villas isn’t a mystery project — it is openly marketed as a chassidish community, built by and for Hasidic families, with infrastructure tailored entirely to their religious lifestyle.
This isn’t a mixed neighborhood. It’s a purpose-built, ultra-Orthodox ecosystem designed so residents never need the outside world. Inside the gates, everything is engineered for Hasidic life: schools for Hasidic children, shuls for Hasidic congregations, a mikvah, a kosher grocery, a Haredi medical center, Hatzolah-style emergency services, and volunteer groups modeled on Chaverim. Every institution, every service, every square foot is built for one specific community — the Hasidic community — and no one else.
The developers advertise it as a “vibrant chassidish community,” with more than a thousand homes and hundreds of rentals meant to create a fully self-sustaining Haredi town in rural Florida. It’s a closed circuit, a parallel society, a bubble designed to operate independently from the surrounding towns.
The message is clear:
This is for us. Not for you.
Florida officials treat it like just another development, ignoring the fact that a private, religiously homogeneous city is being planted in Glades County. No one is asking what it means for the region, or why an ultra-Orthodox enclave — complete with its own schools, emergency services, and religious infrastructure — is being built far from any existing Jewish population center.
The pattern is familiar:
Build inward. Build exclusively. Build self-sufficient.
Then call it community growth.
Florida isn’t just getting a new neighborhood. It’s getting a new ultra-Orthodox colony — one designed to operate on its own terms, with its own institutions, its own rules, and its own identity, sealed off from the rest of the state.
