The Torture of Faris

A Palestinian Child Abducted, Terrorised, and Returned Traumatised

🟥 REPORT by shameensuleman/x

Sources: Palestinian journalists on the ground

🔳 Introduction

A disturbing testimony has emerged from Gaza: Faris, a young Palestinian boy searching for food, was abducted by israeli war criminals and subjected to prolonged psychological and physical torture. Though he was eventually released, he returned traumatised, withdrawn, and unable to escape the horror of what he endured.

This report brings together all available information and situates Faris’s ordeal within a wider, internationally documented pattern of the torture of Palestinian children under israeli occupation.

🟥 The Abduction

🔳 Taken while seeking food aid

▪️ According to Palestinian journalists, Faris was taken while simply searching for food a reality imposed on Gaza’s children by engineered famine and deliberate obstruction of humanitarian access.

▪️ Children near aid sites have repeatedly been detained by israeli war criminals during raids, shootings, and mass arrests.

🟥 Psychological Torture

🔳 Doctored photos used as a weapon

▪️ Interrogators showed Faris fabricated images claiming his mother and sisters had been raped and killed.

▪️ Threatening children with sexual violence against their families mirrors patterns reported by Palestinian detainees across Gaza and Central Palestine.

🔳 Designed to break him mentally

▪️ The intention was to destroy his emotional stability and overwhelm him with fear.

▪️ Child detainees repeatedly describe deception, intimidation, and psychological terror as routine components of interrogation.

🟥 Physical Torture

🔳 Suspended in the air for an entire week

▪️ Faris reported being hung or suspended for seven days a recognised method of torture associated with extreme pain, loss of consciousness, and long-term damage.

▪️ This aligns precisely with UN documentation of prolonged stress-position torture used in israeli detention sites.

🔳 Lasting effects

▪️ Nerve injury

▪️ Joint damage

▪️ Chronic pain

▪️ Hallucinations

▪️ Sleep disruption

▪️ Dissociation

These symptoms match those reported by other Palestinian detainees subjected to similar torture.

🟥 Aftermath: A Traumatised Child Returned Home

🔳 “The nightmare followed him home”

▪️ Faris returned severely traumatised and emotionally detached.

▪️ With Gaza’s health system decimated, children who survive torture have almost no access to psychological support.

▪️ Night terrors, panic responses, speech withdrawal, and fear-based regression are routinely documented in similar cases.

🟥 Context: Torture of Palestinian Children Is Systemic

🔳 israel remains the only state that systematically prosecutes children in military courts

▪️ Between 500–700 Palestinian minors are detained each year.

▪️ International organisations such as DCIP, HRW, and UN agencies document recurring patterns of abuse:

▪️ Beatings

▪️ Stress positions

▪️ Solitary confinement

▪️ Sexualised threats

▪️ Threats to kill family members

▪️ Forced confessions

▪️ Interrogation without a parent or lawyer

🔳 Gaza detainees face even more extreme conditions

Since 2023, detainees including children have been held in secret, unmonitored military sites, where they are subjected to:

▪️ starvation

▪️ beatings

▪️ prolonged restraints

▪️ forced nudity

▪️ exposure to freezing temperatures

▪️ sleep deprivation

▪️ sexualised violence

Dozens have died under interrogation, and many released detainees return unrecognisable.

🟥 Why Faris’s Case Matters

🔳 A child targeted for trying to survive

Faris was not taken during confrontation or resistance he was searching for food.

His abduction reveals the targeting of Gaza’s starving population through fear, disappearance, and torture.

🔳 His testimony aligns with international findings

Every method used against him sexualised threats, fabricated stories of family harm, prolonged suspension, psychological terror is consistent with documented patterns recognised by the UN and global human-rights organisations.

🟥 Western Media Complicity

Despite the severity of Faris’s testimony, the major Western media institutions including @BBCNews, @SkyNews, @NBCNews, @CNN and others have not meaningfully engaged with cases like his, nor have they investigated the wider pattern of torture of Palestinian children now documented by UN bodies and human-rights organisations. These institutions continue shaping global perception while avoiding the core evidence emerging from Gaza, creating the illusion that such abuses are unverified or isolated. Whether through silence, selective reporting, or reliance on official israeli briefings, Western media have contributed to obscuring the scale of these violations and the question remains: why has none of them picked this up, and what does their silence enable?
