"Arab" is a linguistic classification, not an ethnicity. There are 22 countries in the Arab world, which is the area in which Arabic is the primary language. There is no evidence of an influx of "new Arabs" because all that happened was that the indigenous Palestinians started speaking Arabic. An indigenous person adopting the language of the dominant politic force doesn't cease to be indigenous. A Māori person who speaks English does not cease to be Māori.
