The Brutal Killing of Dr. Adnan al‑Bursh

A stark account of the surgeon’s final hours in Israeli custody

According to reports, Dr. Adnan al‑Bursh was arrested from Al‑Awda Hospital in northern Gaza, taken first to Sde Teiman, and later moved to Al‑Jalama for interrogation.

He was arrested inside Al‑Awda Hospital in northern Gaza while treating wounded civilians. Israeli forces stormed the hospital, called him out by name, and threatened to destroy the building if he didn’t surrender.

They took him first to Sde Teiman, a place every released hostage describes as a torture site. Witnesses say he was beaten so badly he could barely walk. His breathing was already weak. He needed help just to stand or use the toilet.

Then they moved him to Al‑Jalama. Shin Bet interrogated him about treating Israeli captives in Gaza. He gave the only answer a real doctor gives: “I am a doctor. I treat whoever is injured.” That wasn’t good enough. They tortured him anyway.

When they were done with him, they sent him to Ofer Prison. Guards reportedly told him, “We have been waiting for you.”

It was 30‑minute assault by around twenty Israeli terrorist guards in an area without cameras. They beat him in a blind spot on purpose. Witnesses talk about kicks, blows with objects, electric shocks, and strikes aimed at sensitive parts of the body.

Witnesses say he screamed until he suddenly went silent.

After the assault, guards threw him into the yard of Section 23. He was barely breathing. Prisoners begged for medical help. None came.

Minutes later, inmates found him collapsed on the floor of the room, gasping. His breathing was very weak. Then it stopped.

Israel confirmed he died in custody but refused to give a cause of death. The fucking monsters won't give the doctor’s body back. His family has been waiting months just to bury him.

At least eighteen Palestinians from Gaza have died in Israeli custody since October. Multiple doctors. Nurses. Paramedics. WHO says over a hundred healthcare workers have been detained. Many were arrested straight out of hospitals. None of these deaths are being investigated. None of these bodies are being released.

This is the “most moral army” in the world, the only “democracy” in the Middle East.
