When I went to India in early 90's to live at an ashram in Poona with global visitors we were peacefully getting along and learning to shed our divisive conditioning, heal our past emotional wounds together and with each other creating a context of ... well. Peace and joy. I don't mean to sound harsh but the contrast was so shocking when Israelis started to come. They were angry and carried weapons. The men and women. It was clear they came from a place that needed that kind of conditioning, but, sadly, it didn't add to a sense of calm or joy to our global community. They, of course, were welcome (although why they wanted to be part of an ashram that was purposefully reaching beyond ANY religious doctrine, was interesting). I was saddened to see the angry intensitiy they brought into our peaceful space. A place that was dedicated to learn to DROP such devisive condtioning brought on by the hell of all religious fanaticism. Now, it seems, this particular elements of the Jewish tradtion continue to not know how to blend. It points to entitlement that has only one end unless they learn that they are but a PART of the human family. Not better than.
