Today, we are honored to share the completion of Update #6 of Gaza's Forgotten Families, another community-led humanitarian initiative made possible entirely through the generosity of our donors.
This phase was coordinated by our trusted facilitator, Alaa M, in central Gaza and focused on reaching families living in communities that receive little or no humanitarian assistance.
Many aid organizations understandably prioritize large displacement camps where thousands of people can be reached at once. While these efforts are vital, they often leave behind smaller camps, isolated tents, elderly people living alone, families caring for loved ones with disabilities, and people sheltering among the ruins of their former neighborhoods.
That is the heart of Gaza's Forgotten Families.
Our mission is to seek out the people who are easiest to overlook.
This initiative provided 48 fresh vegetable parcels, a special fruit and hygiene package, and 5,000 liters of clean drinking water, reaching families facing extraordinary hardship.
Essential 1 — Fresh Vegetable Distribution
On the morning of July 4, 2026, Alaa M and his team traveled to the wholesale market before sunrise to purchase fresh vegetables and fruit at the lowest possible prices.
Buying wholesale allows every donation to stretch further while ensuring families receive fresh, nutritious food that has become increasingly difficult to obtain.
After purchasing the produce, the team spent hours sorting, weighing, and packing every parcel before traveling to Al-Riyadh Camp in western Gaza City.

Vegetable Parcel Contents
Each family received a carefully prepared parcel containing:
Tomatoes
Potatoes
Onions
Eggplants
Cucumbers
Oranges
Garlic
Green peppers
Molokhia
Lemons
Fresh vegetables are now considered a luxury for many families inside Gaza. For some recipients, this was the first opportunity in a long time to prepare a nutritious meal with fresh produce.
Special Assistance for Umm Khamis
Among the families visited was Umm Khamis, who cares for two adult family members living with disabilities while surviving inside a tent exposed to relentless summer heat, insects, rodents, and extremely difficult living conditions.
Recognizing her family's unique needs, the team prepared both a special fruit parcel and a dedicated hygiene package.
The hygiene parcel included:
Adult diapers
Shampoo
Dish soap
Dry wipes
Scented wipes
Cotton swabs
Mouse glue
These simple household items have become scarce and expensive inside Gaza, yet they make an enormous difference for families caring for vulnerable loved ones.
Humanitarian Stories
One of the most moving parts of every distribution is meeting the people behind the statistics.
This initiative was no different.
Our team met a displaced man living completely alone in a tent surrounded by rubble. There are no proper roads leading to his shelter, making it difficult for humanitarian organizations to reach him.
When we handed him his food parcel, he quietly told the team:
"This is the first time anyone has come to my tent."
It was a simple sentence, but one that none of us will soon forget.
We also met Karam.
Karam survived the bombing of his home during the war. His mother and siblings were killed in that bomb.
He remained trapped beneath the rubble for hours before finally being rescued and taken to intensive care with severe burns covering much of his body.
His father survived but suffered serious injuries and permanently lost his hearing.
Today they continue trying to rebuild a life with almost nothing.
Through your generosity, we were able to reach them with humanitarian assistance.
What we offered was more than food.
It was a reminder that they have not been forgotten.
We pray for Karam's continued healing, for strength for his father, and for comfort after unimaginable loss.
Our team also met an elderly woman whose grief poured out as she spoke.
Standing beside the ruins of the life she once knew, she cried out:
"May God punish the Zionists. May God curse those who destroyed my home, killed my children, and made us live in this hell."
She wanted the world to hear her voice.
She wanted people outside Gaza to know what had happened to her family, what had been taken from her, and the suffering she continues to endure every day.
Whether spoken through tears, silence, or prayer, these are the voices of people living through extraordinary loss.
Their stories remind us that every parcel we deliver reaches someone carrying far more than hunger alone.
Essential 2 — Emergency Water Distribution
On July 5, the second phase of this initiative focused on delivering clean drinking water.
Originally, the team considered sending the water truck to the port area, where thousands of displaced families are sheltering.
After assessing the situation, Alaa M made a difficult decision.
Five thousand liters would disappear almost immediately among such a large population, leaving many families without water.
Instead, the team chose to stay true to the mission of Gaza's Forgotten Families:
Go where few others are willing—or able—to go.
After extensive coordination, the team located a driver willing to travel east of the tunnel toward the Yellow Line, despite the risk of shelling and gunfire that causes many drivers to refuse these routes.
The truck successfully reached Al-Aman Camp, where more than 80 tents, along with nearby residents still living in damaged homes, received desperately needed clean drinking water.
Results
💧 5,000 liters distributed
💧 More than 80 tents served
💧 Families living near the Yellow Line reached despite significant danger
💧 One of Central Gaza's least accessible communities received emergency water
Watching the truck arrive safely after so many obstacles reminded everyone why this work matters.

As always, every Gaza's Forgotten Families initiative is documented through photographs, videos, receipts, and financial records so supporters can see exactly how their generosity is being used.
Note: Alaa M does this for his community without taking anything for himself. His family needs our support as well. As it is, his family hasn't received any help for more than a week. If you want to show your appreciation and support him, here is his link:

Looking Ahead
Every update reminds us why this initiative exists.
There are still families living in forgotten corners of Gaza—elderly people, children, people living with disabilities, parents raising their families inside tents, and survivors trying to rebuild after losing everything.
Your generosity continues to reach people who might otherwise never receive assistance.
Every donation carries more than food or water.
It carries dignity.
It carries solidarity.
It tells another family:
You are not forgotten.
Thank you for standing with Gaza's Forgotten Families. Together, we will continue reaching those who need it most.
