Too bad Hamas took all the infrastructure materials, including all the pipes that would’ve supplied freshwater to the area. They took the pipes and used them to build bombs. Too bad. They built thousands of miles of tunnels underneath peoples house under hospitals…They didn’t let any other citizens shield themselves from the war too bad the leaders are living in luxury in Turkey and Lebanon. Too bad there’s no work in Gaza too bad before October 7 30,000 cross over every day to Israel to get work because the only work in Gaza is joining Hamas and being paid to be a terrorist.

This is hard to read because water should never have to be heroic. A child should not be waiting in heat for a truck to arrive. A mother should not be measuring thirst. And yet, what moves me here is the steadiness of the people on the ground: Alaa and Abood continuing after airstrikes, choosing smaller trucks when visibility can mean death, still finding the forgotten camps. That is human beings refusing to let other human beings disappear. Thank you for the transparency, and thank you for making it harder for the rest of us to look away.
