DRIVEN BY LOVE NOT HATE

Those were the words of Leona Kamio, newly released after months on remand as one of the Filton24. When conscience becomes stronger than fear.

“We acted out of love. Not hate. I did what I did because I knew I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I stayed silent while Palestinian children were being killed in front of their families.”

Those were the words of Leona Kamio, newly released after months on remand as one of the Filton24. She had been held since 2024 over accusations that she took part in an action targeting a facility linked to Elbit Systems, one of Israel’s major private weapons manufacturers.

In her remarks, Kamio described the conviction that pushed her to stand with people living under occupation. She spoke about the unbearable reality facing children in Gaza, children who “learn what physical pain is through amputations without morphine, and what emotional pain is through watching everything that makes them feel safe…their homes, their parents, their siblings…destroyed right in front of them.”

On 18 February 2026, prosecutors dropped the aggravated burglary charges against the Filton24, who had been accused of participating in a Palestine Action protest at an Israeli arms company’s site.

The speech was filmed by Ibrahim Abul‑Essad (@essad_48) for Sovereign Media on 18 February 2026.
