The Board of Peace received less than $1 billion of the $17 billion pledged to it. The International Stabilization Force was announced and never deployed. The Gaza mission is now closing. The ceasefire collapsed. No Palestinian representative sits on the board designed to govern Palestinian land. The man who presided over the bombardment of Gaza sits on it instead. Trump announced this plan at Davos with a branding deck and Jared Kushner’s renderings of beachfront condominiums, called it the deal of the century, and has now called affordability a line of bullshit. The pattern is the same every time. The branding is always bigger than the plan. The plan is always bigger than the execution. The execution is always someone else’s problem. The Board of Peace is not a peace initiative. It is a real estate proposal written over a graveyard with no Palestinians in the room. When it fails — and it is failing — the people who pay for that failure are not the people who named it or showed up to Davos to announce it. They are the people who were never invited to the table in the first place. Gaza doesn’t need a board. It needs rubble cleared, hospitals rebuilt, and people allowed to return to what remains of their homes. None of that requires a branding deck. All of it requires something this administration has demonstrated, repeatedly and without ambiguity, that it cannot provide. The will to follow through.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio oversaw the transfer of $1.25 billion in U.S. foreign aid funds to President Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace,” an international organization Trump founded and chairs. The funds were redirected without congressional approval from existing programs: $1 billion from international disaster assistance, $200 million from peacekeeping operations, and $50 million from international organizations and programs.

Legal and constitutional concerns have arisen because Congress controls federal spending, and the Board of Peace lacks formal U.S. legislative or treaty authorization. The Board’s charter grants Trump, as chairman for life, absolute control over budgets and expenditures, raising transparency and accountability issues.

The Board was authorized by UN Security Council Resolution 2803 but is not a U.S. government entity, allowing Trump to bypass domestic legal requirements.

Critics, including Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, argue the move is an executive overreach and have introduced legislation to reclaim $1 billion for domestic energy assistance.

The State Department has not provided public justification, stating only that it has “nothing to announce at this time.”

It sounds like this so called Board of Peace is strictly a way for Netanyahu to maintain control over Gaza and another profit-making scam for Trump. And the Palestinians are left waiting for someone to save them from complete annihilation. So heartbreaking.

There's Kushner again, his goal is to redevelop Gaza as the Riviera of the Mid East, on top of the bones, he's said it out loud.

And Israel, yet again, ignores it's paymaster and the paymaster does nothing but give them more money.

I m not sure anyone sane enough and who watched the unfolding of the Gaza genocide and the lying patterns of Israel and US, would believe the board of peace schtick. Also, given the latest investigation of Richard Medhurst about the US piracy to save the Petro dollar, and knowing the importance of the Levantine basin for this, and knowing the first company that appeared after the Board of Peace to sign on contracts was Chevron, we must see the threads forming no?

it's a complete and total farce, this "Board" had no intention of bringing peace or helping those most in need and suffering from these horrific genocidal war crimes, nor was it set up in ordre to provide that assistance and enact meaningful change anyway. And still they continue to lie, acting as if things are going just great.
